Robinson Hangs on To Finish Fourth at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Finally getting the season underway at Placerville Speedway, Ryan Robinson would hang on to finish fourth despite enduring a damaged nose wing and a bent frame from early contact.

“I was thrilled to get back to Placerville Speedway over the weekend,” Ryan Robinson said. “The track was awesome all night long, and it was super slick with three different lanes to pick from. We started off well in time trials, got through our heat, and grabbed a good starting spot in the feature by way of the Dash.”

Timing in third fastest in his qualifying group, Robinson would take advantage of the prime heat race starting spot aboard the Mako Farms, Inc./LP Holdings/Roseville Precision, Inc. backed No. 14w machine.

Picking up the win, Robinson would head into the Dash where he would be involved in a very spirited battle for the second spot. When the Dash ended, Robinson’s third place finish placed him in the second row for the 30-lap feature event.

When the race went green, Robinson would find himself battling with the likes of Justyn Cox, Andy Forsberg, and Tony Gualda in the early goings, as he worked his way up to third.

On the eighth lap, Forsberg would get out of shape in front of him, and contact would ensue resulting in a completely collapsed nose wing, and damage to the front end of his frame.

Able to race on, Robinson would have his handful for the remaining 18 laps of the race with his handling being tough with the nose wing damage. Able to search around the speedway and find some lines that worked for him, Robinson kept his machine inside the Top-5 and ended his night with a fourth-place finish.

“Unfortunately, we got together with Andy Forsberg in the feature, and it caused some damage to our car that made the rest of the race a little tough,” Robinson added. “ I am really pleased with how good Todd (Weiher) and I can get the car going fast we have raced at this season.”

Weiher Racing would like to thank Mako Farms, Inc., LP Holdings, Roseville Precision, Inc., Escalon Body and Frame, Seth’s Racing Engines, Papa Chuck, Threadz Design, JDS Tile & Construction, Inc., and Morrison Concrete for their support in 2020!

BY THE NUMBERS: Races-7, Wins-3, Top 5’s-6, Top 10’s-7

ON TAP: Robinson and Weiher Racing will return to racing action during the next event at Placerville Speedway which is currently TBD.
