PETERSEN MEDIA- Continuing their quest for the 2019 King of the West Championship, Ryan Bernal and Tarlton Motorsports continued to show their consistency as they finished 8thon Saturday in at Santa Maria Speedway.
“It is good to get another Top-10 with these guys, but we certainly want to be up contending for wins,” Ryan Bernal said. “I got us a little behind early, but luckily my car was good enough to get us going the right direction in the feature.”
Timing the Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto Sales/Pabco Gypsum backed No. 21 machine in 12thfastest in qualifying time trials, the Hollister, CA pilot would capitalize on prime heat race starting position and pick up the win.
Moving into the feature, Bernal would grid the field from the 12thstarting position on a surface that would prove to be racy.
Getting off to a slow start, Bernal would give up a few positions early but would soon settle in and begin his march forward.
Working around the Santa Maria Speedway, Bernal would find his way into the ninth position on the sixth lap and would jump into eight a few laps later. Fighting with Geoff Ensign and Kenny Allen at times, Bernal would get up to seventh at one point, but would slip back to eighth where he would go on to finish.
“I have to thank my guys for always giving me a good car,” Bernal said. “We have a couple of weeks off, and I can’t wait to get back to work during our Speedweek and get this car up front where it belongs. Thanks to the Tarlton’s and our sponsors for all they do.”
