Ryan Bernal Picks Up 2nd at 7th Place Finishes with Tarlton Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting the call to run the Tarlton Motorsports Midget and Winged 410 on Saturday night at the Dave Helm Classic in Hanford, CA, Ryan Bernal would have a very strong showing as he ran second in USAC Western States Midget action, and seventh in Kings of Thunder 410ci competition.

“It was great to be back working with Paul Baines and Tyrone Tyra,” Ryan Bernal said. “They gave me two really good cars, and I felt like it was a really solid night.”

Bernal got the night off to a strong start in Midget action as he timed the Tarlton and Son, Inc./Complete Parts and Equipment/Bandy and Associates backed No. 21 machine in 10th fastest in qualifying time trials.

Picking up the win in his heat race, the Hollister, CA driver would move into the feature event where he took the green flag from the seventh starting position.

On the Keller Auto Speedway surface, Bernal had his elbows up as he was able to make his way through the field as he chased after Mitchell Moles and Austin Liggett. Just past the race’s halfway point, Bernal would move into second as he then turned his sole attention to Moles.

While able to keep Moles in striking distance, Bernal could not quite get to him as he closed the Midget feature out with a second-place finish.

Winged 410ci action saw the field use a dual heat race format opposed to qualifying time trials. Picking up a pair of fifth place finishes in heat race competition, Bernal would take the green flag from the 13th starting position.

Quickly getting into the Top-10 when the Sprint Car feature came to life, Bernal would slowly continue to work his way forward.

Getting up into the seventh position by the race’s halfway point, tight knit racing would see Bernal momentarily fall back into the ninth position. Able to work his way back up to seventh, Bernal would cap the night off with a seventh place finish giving him two Top-10’s on the night.

“I had a blast on Saturday, and really want to thank Tom and Tommy Tarlton for letting me get back in the seat of their cars,” Bernal added.

Tarlton Motorsports would like to thank Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, EZ Haul, All Star Performance, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2021 season.
