Ryan Robinson and Weiher Racing Net Third Win of Season
PETERSEN MEDIA: Ryan Robinson and car owner, Todd Weiher have hit the ground running in 2020. In just five starts this season, Robinson and company have picked up three feature event wins with their latest coming this past Saturday in Marysville, CA.
“We have been to Marysville Raceway three times this year, and each visit we improve our notes, better the setup, and I get that much more comfortable on the track,” Robinson said. “Even when we run up front we continue to try and figure out how to be a little better in our next visit, and I could tell after hot laps we were on to something.”
With 32 cars packed into the pit area, Robinson would time the Mako Farms, Inc./LP Holdings/RPI backed No. 14w entry in fifth quickest in time trials after what he explained was a little driver error.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Robinson knew that picking up the win would be vital in making the redraw. Jumping into second on the initial start, the Roseville, CA driver would take advantage of a slight mistake by Geoff Ensign and take over the lead. Cruising to the win, Robinson would qualify for the redraw where the one pill put him on the front row for the feature event.
On the rough and tumble Marysville Raceway surface, Robinson would jump into second position while picking up in an entertaining for the top spot with fellow young gun, Blake Carrick.
Able to get by Carrick, Robinson was able to set a comfortable pace and keep the field at bay. Battling with the likes of younger sister, Jodie, and seasoned veteran, Sean Becker, Robinson was able to cap off a great night as he soared to his third win of the 2020 season.
Once I got out front I tried to minimize my mistakes and get through traffic as fast as I could,” Robinson added. “Looking back at the race, it was extremely cool too see my sister run in second for a while. I can’t thank Todd Weiher enough for this opportunity. It is a blast to race with him and the team he has built up, and these results are just an added bonus.”
Weiher Racing would like to thank Mako Farms, Inc., LP Holdings, Roseville Precision, Inc., Escalon Body and Frame, Papa Chuck, Threadz Design, JDS Tile & Construction, Inc., and Morrison Concrete for their support in 2020!
BY THE NUMBERS: Races-5, Wins-3, Top 5’s-5, Top 10’s-5
