Ryan Robinson Sixth at Fall Nationals Opener Before Wreck Ends Run in Finale

PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to action with the Weiher Racing team during the Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals in Chico, CA over the weekend, Ryan Robinson would pocket a sixth-place finish during Friday night’s opener, before a wreck while battling for third in Saturday’s finale ended his night prematurely.

“Friday night it was pretty fast and tough to make up ground,” Ryan Robinson said. “Saturday night we had another good night going, but unfortunately Shane Golobic had a steering part failure while we were battling for position, and it resulted in us making contact and I took a pretty good ride.”

With the pit area in Chico, CA packed all weekend for the annual Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals, Robinson returned to work with Todd Weiher and timed the Mako Farms, Inc./LP Holdings/RPI backed entry in sixth fastest in his flight.

Picking up a second-place finish in heat race competition, the Roseville, CA driver would qualify for the Dash where he would start and finish in the eighth position.

Lining up eighth in the 30-lap feature event by way of his Dash finish, a hooked-up surface would make things a bit challenging as far as making up track position. Able to pick up a few spots over the course of the race, the current Sprint Car Challenge Tour point leader would cap the opener off with a sixth-place finish.

Saturday night Robinson would get off to a quick start as he earned quick time honors with a total of 69 cars checked into the pit area.

Lining up on the pole of his heat race, Robinson would race to the heat race win and again lock himself into the Dash. With Lady Luck again not on his side in the draw, Robinson would find himself with the eight pill for the second consecutive night.

Able to race to third from eighth, Robinson would take the green flag from the second row to get the 40-lap feature underway.

When the race came to life, Robinson would keep his mount in the mix as he battled inside the Top-Five. Battling for the third position on the 10th lap, something would break on Shane Golobic’s car and it would turn him up the straightway and Robinson would make contact which led to a series of flips off of turn three, bringing his night to an end.

“It was just a wrong place, wrong time circumstance on Saturday night,” Robinson said. “A bummer way to end our night, but we have a lot of speed and I am hoping we can carry that into Friday’s SCCT race in Hanford, CA.”

Weiher Racing would like to thank Mako Farms, Inc., LP Holdings, Roseville Precision, Inc., Escalon Body and Frame, Seth’s Racing Engines, Papa Chuck, Dave Harvey Trucking, and Morrison Concrete for their support in 2021!

BY THE NUMBERS: Races-21, Wins-1, Top 5’s-9, Top 10’s-18

ON TAP: Robinson and the Weiher Racing team return to action on Friday night in Hanford, CA for the Cotton Classic with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour.
