PETERSEN MEDIA- When the checkered flag flew on another completed World of Outlaws campaign for Joey Saldana his fourth place finish would secure him and the Roth Motorsports team a fifth place finish in the final series point standings.

“Overall I think it was a good year for this team,” Joey Saldana said. “We were able to win some races and finish in the Top-Five of the point standings, and I really have to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth for sticking with us.”

Heading into the final race weekend of the season, Saldana would open things up on Thursday night by timing the Roth Motorsports entry in fourth fastest for the Friday night show and third fastest for the Saturday night season finale.

Opening things up on Friday night, the ‘Brownsburg Bullet’ would pick up a second place finish during his heat race, before a fifth place finish in the second Dash, line him up in the 10th starting spot for the 30-lap feature event.

A slick Charlotte Dirt Track would see Saldana go toe-to-toe with some of the country’s best drivers as he would battle with the likes of Daryn Pittman and Brian Brown during most of the feature event.

When the checkered flag flew on the season’s penultimate event, Saldana would cross the finish line in the 10th spot.

Saturday night would see the long season come to an end, but Saldana would look for one last score in 2016.

Again finishing second in his heat race, Saldana would advance into the Craftsman Club Dash where a seventh place finish placed him in the fourth row for the final feature event of the season.

With a strong Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/Roth Investments machine under him, Saldana was able to make some swift moves in the ‘A’ Main. Getting up into the third spot, Saldana would find himself in a heated battle with Greg Hodentt for the final spot on the podium.

With Hodnett able to get by him with just a few laps remaining, Saldana would cap his season off with a fourth place effort.

“As a competitor you always want to do better,” Saldana said. “We had a good year, but for me I wanted to personally win more races and score more top-five finishes for this team. We had some rough patches, but overall we accomplished some of the goals I set out to attain at the start of the year, and again really have to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth for sticking with me, and giving me such a great opportunity this year.”

The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, Roth Investments, Southern Pacific Farms, 3H Cattle,  Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, and Astro Titanium for their support in 2016.
