PETERSEN MEDIA- Making the decision to follow the Sprint Car Challenge Tour to Petaluma Speedway on Saturday night, Justin Sanders and Dale Miller Motorsports would have a nice night that would be capped off with a 10th place finish.

“We had a really good car all night long, and probably should have finished a little better,” Sanders said. “Unfortunately we had some issues with a bleeder and it would take a few laps to get air pressure built back up, so restarts killed us.”

Timing the Thompson’s Buick-GMC/Thompson’s Jeep-Ram/Dale Miller Septic, Inc. entry in second quickest in his qualifying group, the Aromas, CA wheelman would race his way to a third place finish in heat race action after a spirited battle with Kyle Hirst and Geoff Ensign.

Moving into the 35-lap ‘A’ Main, Sanders would roll off the starting grid from the 12th spot in an absolute star-studded field assembled to attack the Petaluma Gumbo.

When the race came to life, Sanders was able to work his way forward with a strong North County Plastering/Anrak Corporation/Yuba-Sutter Aviation machine underneath him.

A couple of early yellows would slow the field down and it was at this time Sanders realized he had an issue. With much of the race going green, Sanders would get back up to speed, and work inside the Top-10 and get up to sixth when the caution was again needed on the 23rd lap.

Losing air pressure under yellow, he would fall back as the race came back to life, but would begin to trend forward until the race’s final caution came with six-laps left in the race.

Falling back again as the race came to life, Sanders would get his machine back up into 10th in the final laps, where he would go on to finish.

“It was a little frustrating to fall back like we did on those restarts, but we made do and still came a way with an okay finish,’ Sanders added. “Thanks to Dale and Tara, and everyone associated with the race team.”

The Dale Miller Motorsports team would like to thank Thompson’s Buick-GMC, Thompson’s Jeep-Ram, Dale Miller Septic, Inc., North County Plastering, Anrak Corporation, Yuba-Sutter Aviation, Frank’s Body Shop, Wion’s Powder Coating, Walker Performance Filtration, Factory Kahne Shocks, Smith Titanium, FK Rod Ends, Triple X Race Co., King Racing Products, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, and Vortex Wings for their support.
