PETERSEN MEDIA: Continuing his winning ways at Ocean Speedway, Friday night saw Justin Sanders record his third consecutive win at the track he calls home as the speedway goes idle for a few weeks with some big events taking place in California.
“It’s always great to get a win, and to get another one at my home track with all of my friends and family around is really great,” Justin Sanders said. “We keep tuning on our package and I feel like were getting better each week, so hopefully we can continue our strong run in what is a pretty big couple weeks of racing.”
By way of his Dash win, Sanders find himself on the front row of the feature event alongside sprint car legend, Brent Kaeding, who was making his first start of the year.
When the green flag waived, Sanders mashed the throttle as seemingly sped away from the field making the battle for second the one to watch. With Kaeding in tow, Sanders would continue to open his lead up but stoppages on both laps six and seven would bunch the field back up.
With Kaeding and Landon Hurst gunning for him, the duo would hook up in a tussle for the runner up position behind him, and it would allow Sanders to create space. Building up another sizeable lead, a lap 18 caution would again put the field right on Sanders’ bumper.
Not to be denied on this night, Sanders would go on to lead the final 12 stanzas, and park his North County Plastering/Andy’s Construction/Yuba Sutter Aviation machine in victory lane for the third consecutive week at Ocean Speedway.
“Thanks to everyone who helps this race team out in one way or another,” Sanders said. “It’s been a great month of August, and like I said before, hopefully it transitons into a strong September and October.”
Justin and his team would like to thank North County Plastering, Andy’s Construction, Yuba Sutter Aviation, Roadside 24hr Service, Roger’s Diner, Factory Kahne, BG Labels and Tee’s, Walker Performance Filtration, Dixon and Son Tires, Ernie’s Service Center, East Lake Village, FK Rod Ends, Triple X Race Co., DMI, Keizer Wheels, Wings Unlimited, Ti64 Titanium, AIS Heating and Sheet Metal, Fred Lint and Family, JonSan Racing, Sandblast Service, G&N Construction, and Steve Duppman Racing for their continued support in 2019.
