Sanders Rides Momentum of 50th Career Feature Event Win into Tomorrows 57th Annual Johnny Key Classi

PETERSEN MEDIA: Justin Sanders already had momentum built up for the 2017 edition of the Johnny Key Classic at Ocean Speedway by way of winning the track’s last sprint car race two weeks ago, and entering the race as the defending winner.

Continuing to flex his muscle and hone his craft late in the Summer, Sanders reeled off a monumental win on Saturday night in Placerville, CA that marked the 50th career win of his career.

“Winning my 50th career race last week was huge,” Sanders said. “It was special to win on my Mom’s birthday, and it is just great to get back into victory lane. Tim Green has been such an awesome mentor and crew chief for me, and my entire crew has worked extremely hard all year for me. I am hopeful we can get another Johnny Key Classic win this year.”

Heading into tomorrows tilt with the Civil War Series, Sanders comes in as one of the heavy favorites as he has amassed four wins at the track he calls home this season as well as eighth Top-Five finishes in 360 competition aboard the North County Plastering/Lufos’s Custom Design/STS trucking entry.

For much of the Summer, Sanders looked to be well on his way to another Ocean Speedway track championship, but a detrimental mechanical failure sidelined him and he now sits third in points, just 83 markers out of the top spot. Though he has some work ahead of him, the Prunedale, CA native is focused on visiting the winners circle as many times as possible.

An added perk of Sanders entering the 57th Annual Johnny Key Classic on Saturday night as the race’s defending winner, his Justin Sanders Racing No. 17 is featured on the event Tee Shirt (Pictured), and will be available for purchase at Ocean Speedway on Saturday night.

“The Ocean Speedway is home to me, and I have been fortunate to have a lot of success there over the years” Sanders added. “I am mentally and physically ready for a 50-lap feature event, and this JSR team is going for it again. This team has a ton of locally based partners that we appreciate, and I would love to win another Johnny Key Classic for them.”

Justin and his team would like to thank North County Plastering, Lufos’s Custom Design, STS Trucking, Don Chapin Construction Lancaster Locksmith, Sand Blast Services, G&N Construction, Danny Olmstead, Circle Racing Wheels, B.G. Tees and Labels, Roger’s Diner, Carmona’s BBQ, East Lake Village, RV Computer Technology, Pasilla’s Tire Service, Felton Pit Stop, Ernie’s Service Center, Jontee’s Trucing, FK Rod Ends, Champion Racing Oil, Bay City Automotive, Dan’s Upholstery and JonSan Racing, LLC for their continued support in 2017.

ON TAP: Justin Sanders will be in action on Saturday night during the 56th Annual Johnny Key Classic at the Ocean Speedway.
