PETERSEN MEDIA: Kicking the 2015 off on Saturday night at the Marysville Raceway, Justin Sanders put on a strong performance to claim the Toller Memorial and was quick to dedicate the night to Nick Lancaster, a long time supporter and friend of his who tragically passed over the winter.

“We came out here to start our season off strong, and I really wanted to win tonight for Nick Lancaster, so I am thrilled to make that happen,” a jubilated Justin Sanders said.

With 25 winged 360’s in the house for the Northern California season opener, Sanders had a great night all around as he timed the F&W Racing No. 18 machine in third fastest before racing his way to a fourth place finish in his heat race.

With the three heat winners and five fastest drivers who made it through their heats drawing for starting position, Sanders was fortunate enough to pull the two pill, and line up on the front row of the 25-lap  feature event.

Lining up next to Jeremy Hawes, Sanders was hard on the loud pedal as the green flag dropped, as he quickly motored away from the field, as Rico Abreu jumped into the second spot, and chased after him.

On a hooked up surface, Sanders was very strong, and was impressive through lapped traffic. With a pair of cautions mixed into the event, Sanders was able to continue to pull away from the field, though in the closing laps, he hooked up in an entertaining battle with Abreu.

With Abreu making a couple challenges for the lead, Sanders was able to answer the call, as he picked up the season opening win, and made himself eligible for the Spring Challenge being put up by Marysville Raceway and Silver Dollar Speedway.

Should Sanders win the next five races, or any combination of the next five races between the two tracks he will score some lucrative bonuses.

“I have to thank Rudy and Beverly Warrington for allowing me to drive their car, and all the guys for working so hard on this thing all night,’ Sanders added.

Justin Sanders would like to thank North County Plastering, G&N Construction, STS Trucking, Lancaster Locksmith, Village Glass. Lufos Kustom Designs, Taco Bravo, LRB Race Products, Petersen Media, Fire Protection Management, Dirt Solution, Bob Tweedy, Ron Gravelle. Keener Auto Body, and  Dave Haver Racing Engines for their continued support.

ON TAP: Sanders will be look to cash in on the Spring Challenge Bonus as he heads to the Silver Dollar Speedway this Friday and Saturday night for the Silver Cup.
