PETERSEN MEDIA: Justin Sanders had been knocking on the door to victory lane at the Ocean Speedway all season long, and on Friday night, he broke through as he picked up his first win of the season at his home track in thrilling fashion.

“It was an awesome race, and an awesome way to finally get a win at the Ocean Speedway,” Sanders said.

By way of his heat race win, Sanders found himself in the nightly redraw, and the seven pill put his North County Plastering/G&N Construction/STS Trucking backed No. 17 machine in the fourth row for the feature event.

With the track beginning to slick off and become racy in the 30-lap feature event, Sanders was able to quietly navigate his way to the front, as he got into the third spot, and had a cat birds seat to the battle between Andy Forsberg and Shane Golobic.

As the laps clicked off, Sanders stayed in shouting distance of the duo, and with the white flag in the air, Sanders dove to the bottom of the speedway and threw a huge move on both cars, as he stormed into the lead, but they were both able to get him back down the back stretch.

With the lead duo dropping to the bottom of the speedway, Sanders stayed high, and made it stick, as he beat the field back to the checkered to pick up his first win of the year at his home track, and his sixth overall in 2014.

“That was exciting, and it feels great to be back in victory lane at this track,” he added. “I can’t thank all of the people who support us, and who have stuck behind us all year.”

Saturday night, Sanders climbed back aboard the F&W No. 18 machine for a night of Civil War action at the rough and hooked up Petaluma Speedway.

Timing his machine in eighth fastest, the Prunedale, CA pilot would finish second in his heat race, putting him in the fifth row for the feature event.

On the surface that was classic Petaluma, Sanders bounced his machine around, and got on the wheels, as he man handled his mount around the speedway.

Battling inside the top-10 with Alissa Geving, Andy Gregg, and Chase Johnson, Sanders was able to close his night out with an eighth place finish.

Justin Sanders would like to thank North County Plastering, G&N Construction, STS Trucking, Lancaster Locksmith, Village Glass. Lufos Kustom Designs, Taco Bravo, LRB Race Products, Petersen Media, Fire Protection Management, Dirt Solution, Bob Tweedy, Ron Gravelle. Keener Auto Body, and  Dave Haver Racing Engines for their continued support.

ON TAP: Sanders will be in action this coming Friday and Saturday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA for the Fall Nationals.
