PETERSEN MEDIA: Justin Sanders had yet another dominant weekend as he was able to pick up the win on Friday night at the Ocean Speedway before finishing third on Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway.
“I am fortunate enough to surround myself with some great people, and it is showing night in and night out,” Sanders said.
Piloting his Justin Sanders Racing machine at the Ocean Speedway on Friday night, the Watsonville, CA driver timed in fourth fastest before racing his way to a second place finish in heat race action.
Lining up on the front row of the feature event by way of the redraw, Sanders found himself in the second spot in the early goings of the feature event, as he chased after Nick Ringo.
Looking very strong in the second position, Sanders would make a big move to get around Ringo, and take command of the race on the fifth lap, as Brent Kaeding and Shane Golobic then flanked him.
With the track surface seemingly changing as the race wore on, Sanders got stronger lap after lap, as he distanced himself front the rest of the field. Though he nearly spun his machine out on the 14th lap, Sanders would ultimately pick up the win by a margin of 2. 499 seconds over Brent Kaeding.
“It is great to get a win at the Ocean Speedway,” Sanders quipped. “I just had to stay calm, and hit my marks in traffic. I kept expecting so see someone alongside of me, but traffic was kind to me.”
Saturday night, Sanders made the trip to the Placerville Speedway as he climbed aboard the Rudy Warrington owned No. 18 machine.
Timing in ninth fastest, Sanders would pick up the heat race win from his front row starting spot, and again find himself in the redraw, where he would pull the five pill.
Lining up in the third row for the 25-lap feature event, Sanders would work his way forward as he would battled with Matt Peterson as he raced for the third spot. Once into third, Sanders would stalk the lead duo of Colby Wiesz and Greg DeCaires, but could not quite catch them as he would close his weekend out with another third place finish.
“With Marysville off, Rudy Warrington and the guys decided to head to Placerville, and I thought we had a really good run,” he added. “Again, I really have to thank everyone on both teams for all of their hard work and support.”
ON TAP: Justin Sanders will be back in action on Friday night at the Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA, before returning to the Marysville Raceway on Saturday night.
