Saturday Night Struggles For Steven Tiner

PETERSEN MEDIA: Traveling to the Ocean Speedway on Saturday night as one of four locked in drivers in the Johnny Key Classic feature event, Steven Tiner would simply struggle as he would end up finishing in the 17th spot.

“It was just a tough night for us all around,” Steven Tiner said. “We struggled in the dash, broke a shock early in the main, and really just couldn’t get moving forward.”

By way of his Civil War win at the Placerville Speedway in June, the Visalia, CA driver would get his night started in the Dash, where an early issue would relegate him to a seventh place finish.

Lining the Larry Davis Farms/Wright Process Systems/Deli Delicious backed No. 94 machine up in the fourth row of the 50-lap feature event, Tiner would go to work on the top side of the speedway.

Getting into the back stretch wall early in the feature event, Tiner would have a suspension issues hamper him as he slid back through the field. Able to make a quick repair during the lap 25-stop, Tiner’s crew was unable to make any adjustments to the Fisher Racing Engines/Harvest Supply/Powder Coat-It entry.

When the race came back to life, Tiner would struggle to make any forward drive, as he would end a long night with a 17th place finish.

“This is a race that I always seem to have bad luck with,” Tiner said. “I was hopeful that would change this year since we were locked in, but we just had a couple of issues really give us trouble. We will see what we can do to get better, and hopefully get back after it this weekend.”

Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Deli Delicious, Fisher Racing Engines, Harvest Supply, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, XYZ Machine, DMI, Dan Olson Race Products, HRP, Sander Engineering, Sweet Manufacturing, Schoenfeld, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-25, Wins-3, Top 5’s-11, Top 10’s-17

ON TAP: Steven Tiner is hoping to return to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night for the track’s final point race of the season.
