Sean Becker Hard Charges at Ocean Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Traveling to Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA and Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA over the weekend with Van Lare Motorsports, Sean Becker would put on quite a charge Friday night as he finished third before a 10th place finish on Saturday.

“I have been doing a poor job in time trials lately, and on Friday it put us in too big of a hole to completely climb out of,” Sean Becker said. “We had a really fast car in the in main event, but I wasn’t able to get to the front soon enough to battle for the lead.

Checking in at the scenic Ocean Speedway on Friday night, Becker would time the Pro Aggregate/All About Fire Protection/Bianchi Farms backed no. 5v machine in 14th quickest in time trials amidst the 27 drivers checked in for the night.

Advancing from fifth to fourth in his heat race, ‘The Shark’ would transfer directly into the feature event, where he would take the green flag from the 14th starting position.

Getting off to a nice start, Becker would quickly jump into the Top-10 as he ran 10th until lap seven when he was able to pull into the eighth position.

Continuing to make moves on the ¼ mile bullring, Becker would crack the Top-5 just prior to the race’s halfway point on the 13th lap.

Battling inside the Top-5, the Roseville, CA driver would move into fourth with just 13 laps left in the race, and would run there for the next 10 circuits. Taking over third on lap 28, Becker would chase after the lead duo of DJ Netto and Justin Sanders, but could not run them down as he settled for the final position on the podium.

Heading to Keller Auto Speedway on Saturday night, a two-heat format would see Becker pick up a second place finish in his first heat race, and a sixth place finish in his second heat.

Lining up third in the feature event, Becker would hold down a spot in the Top-three as he looked to grab a win at his fifth different track in 2020. Battling between third and fourth during the first half of the feature, Becker would move into second on the 14th lap.

Running second for the next five laps, the battle would heat up for the position and a bold move would result in Becker spinning his machine to stop on the 20th lap.

Restarting from the tail end of the field, Becker would still showcase a very strong car as he would pick up 10 positions in the final 10 laps and close his night out with a 10th place finish.

“Our car was super sporty all night on Saturday,” Becker added. ‘We put ourselves in a perfect position to get a win, but I had a huge mistake and threw our chances away. As mad as I am at myself, I am still very confident we can get back to victory lane soon.”

Becker and Monhoff Racing would like to thank LRB, and Triple X Race Co. for their continued support.

Becker and Van Lare Motorsports would like to thank Pro Aggregate, All About Fire Protection, Bianchi Farms, Shark Racing Engines, CCI, Van Lare Steering Repair, and Triple X Race Co. for their support in 2020.
