Sean Becker Scores Two Podiums

PETERSEN MEDIA- Sean Becker claimed two podium finishes over the weekend as he picked up a third place finish on Friday night aboard his Menne Motorsports entry, before charging to a second place finish on Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway with the Dan Monhoff Motorsports team.

“It was a really good weekend in both cars, and I thank both teams for working hard to give such strong racecar’s,” Sean Becker said.

Friday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway, Becker would kick his night off by timing the Mike’s Hard Lemonade/Cherry Street Mini Storage/Menne Ranch Hay Inc. No. 75 machine in fastest in time trials.

Finishing third in his heat race, the Roseville, CA driver would find himself with the eight pill at the redraw, and would line up in the fourth row for the 25-lap A Main event.

Getting off to a slow start, Becker would chase after Jason Statler and Bobby McMahan in the early goings of the race as he looked to get to the front. Finally working into the third position, Becker would pressure Andy Forsberg in the race’s closing laps, but would run out of time as he took the checkered flag in the third position.

Heading to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Becker would climb back aboard the Monhoff No. 35 machine for the first time since winning two consecutive races at the speedway.

Timing in fourth fastest on the ¼ mile bullring, Becker would have issues in his heat race and finish in the seventh spot. Lining up seventh in the feature event, Becker would find himself working past Greg DeCaires and Matt Peterson in his for the race lead.

Using traffic to his advantage late in the race, Becker would move into the second spot as he chased after race leader, Andy Gregg. Running in traffic, Becker could not get the opening he needed to battle for the win, and ended his night with a second place finish.

“We had to pass some quality cars both nights to get to the front, and it is a testament to how good both of these teams are,” Becker added. “Saturday night traffic was both good and bad to us. It was good as it helped us get into the second spot, but it got a little dicey when we tried to chase after Andy Gregg. I really have to thank Dan Menne and Dan Monhoff for a great weekend.”

Becker would like to thank Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Cherry Street Mini Storage, Menne Ranch Hay Inc., Astro Titanium, Ponybracket.com, Hunt’s Race World, Molecule, Shaver Racing Engines, FK Rod Ends, and K&N for their support in 2015.
