PETERSEN MEDIA- Reuniting with Dan Monhoff on Saturday night, Sean Becker and Monhoff Racing made their way to Petaluma, CA for the Adobe Cup where ‘The Shark’ rallied form mid pack and scored a third-place finish with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour.
“I am really thankful that Dan Monhoff gave me the opportunity to compete at the Adobe Cup,” Sean Becker said. “Petaluma is a place that we have ran well at together and I’m grateful that we picked up another podium finish.”
With 28 cars checked in for the 11th Annual Adobe Cup, a race that Becker and Monhoff were victorious at in 2019, Becker got the night kicked off by timing in fifth fastest in his qualifying group.
Lining up fifth in his heat race, ‘The Shark’ had his elbows up on the hooked-up Petaluma Speedway gumbo and worked his way to a third-place finish and locked himself into the 35-lap Adobe Cup feature event.
Gridding the field from the 12th starting spot in the 35-lap finale, Becker would bide his team in a very wild feature event. Working his way up to seventh just before the halfway point, Becker jumped into sixth following a restart on the 27th lap.
Getting strong as the race drew to a close, Becker worked into fifth on the 30th, lap before jumping into third following the race’s final restart on lap 33.
In third, Becker gave chase to second running Justin Sanders, but on this night he settled for the final spot on the podium as he capped the night off with a third place finish.
“I want to thank all the guys who came out and helped us out on Saturday, and again thank Dan for the opportunity to go after another Adobe Cup title.” Becker added.
