PETERSEN MEDIA: Taking advantage of another opportunity to compete at Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, Sean Watts would over come an ignition issue early in the night and work his way to 12th in the feature event.

“We had an issue that we couldn’t quite diagnose, but we were finally able to get it taken care of after our heat race,” Watts said. “The bad thing about that was we had our work cut out for ourselves as we started last in the feature event. “

Timing the Watts Rolfe Speed-Sports No. 98 machine in 14th fastest in qualifying time trials, the Atwater, CA driver would fight issues during heat racing action that lined him up 17th in the 25-lap feature event.

Continuing to go through the Grizzly Coolers/Schaeffer Racing Oil/Rolfe Construction entry, an ignition switch was made prior to the feature event, and it turned out to be the culprit as Watts reported after the feature.

From his 17th starting position, Watts would get off to a bit of a slow start as he was able to work into the 16th spot as laps clicked off quickly. A caution just past the halfway point proved to be good for Watts as he was able to use the restart to jump up into the 13th spot.

Getting into 12th on the 17th lap, Watts was able to work his way forward a little farther, but going a lap down early in the race, 12th would prove to be as high as he could get.

“We felt pretty good in the feature event, and I was able to get better as the race went on it seemed,” Watts said. “I would have loved to get another Top-10 in Chico, CA, but I got lapped early and 12th was about as good of a finish as I was able to get.”

Sean and the Watts Rolfe Speed-Sports team would like to thank Grizzly Coolers, Schaeffer Racing Oil, Rolfe Construction, Billet American, Kaeding Performance, Shannon Pumps, Stealth Homes, Tee’s and Tops, Team Simpson, Kistler Racing Engines, and Stan Yockey Motorsports for their continued support.

ON TAP: Watts will be back in action on Saturday night as he picks up the King of the West Series in Petaluma, CA.
