PETERSEN MEDIA- Carson Macedo and his Tarlton Racing team made the trip up north to the Silver Dollar Speedway to take part in the 2015 Fall Nationals. Macedo would have a strong weekend of racing that saw him finish second during the Friday night opener, before working his way from 20th to finish ninth on Saturday night.
“This Tarlton Racing car was great all weekend, and I really owe it to Paul Baines and my guys,” Macedo said. “Saturday night I did not time in well and that put us in a hole, but we were able to dig out of it and come away with a Top-10.”
Friday night, Macedo would open his weekend up by timing the Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto Sales No. 21x machine in with the fastest lap of the second qualifying flight.
Finishing fourth in his heat race, the Lemoore, CA pilot would finish third in the Dash, to put the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino/Pabco Gypsum/Bandy and Associates backed entry in the second row of the feature event.
Running in third as the race went green, Macedo quickly worked his way past Willie Croft and took over the second spot as he chased after the early leader, Sean Becker. Closing in on Becker, Macedo could not find away around him, as he continued to ride in the second position.
A late restart would see Kyle Hirst come from nowhere to put Macedo back in the third spot, but as that happened, Macedo was able to get by Becker, to take the second position back.
Chasing after Hirst in the closing laps, Macedo would end Friday night with a very strong second place finish.
Back in action on Saturday night for the Fall Nationals finale, Macedo would get off to a slow start as he would time in 10th fastest in his qualifying flight.
Missing the heat race inversion, Macedo would show some tremendous speed in his heat, as he work race his way to finish in the second spot, and come oh-so-close to sneaking into the Dash.
Lining up in the 10th row for the 40-lap bout, Macedo would run a very smart race as he slowly worked his way forward. Battling a crazy windstorm and dense traffic, Macedo showed some veteran savvy, as he was able to close the Fall Nationals with a ninth place finish.
“I just hate that we were in a deep hole,” Macedo said. “We had some great speed after time trials, so I am curious to know if we had anything for the leaders if we could have started further forward. It is part of racing, and I am just extremely proud of this team’s resolve, and very thankful for what the Tarlton’s do for me week in and week out.”
Tarlton Racing would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2015 season.
ON TAP: Macedo and his Tarlton Racing team will be in action on Friday night at the Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA and will return to action with the KWS on Saturday night in Tulare, CA.
