Sixth Place Run on Friday Highlights Tanner Carrick’s Nor*Cal Posse Shootout

PETERSEN MEDIA: Fresh off of Indiana Midget Week, Tanner Carrick made his return to California with his family car this past weekend and picked up sixth and 12th place finishes during the two-night Nor*Cal Posse Shootout at Placerville Speedway.

“We had good speed both nights, and Saturday I made a mistake in time trials that set us back, and Friday I made contact with another car and had to nurse it home for 11 laps,” Tanner Carrick said.

Kicking the two-night event off on Friday night, Carrick would time the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 83T machine in third fastest in his qualifying group.

Picking up the heat race win, Carrick moved into the Dash where his sixth-place finishing lined him up in the third row for the 30-lap feature event.

On the racy Placerville Speedway surface, Carrick would find himself up front and battling with the likes of Colby Copeland, Shane Golobic and Sean Becker at various times. Battling hard in traffic once traffic came into play, incidental contact with Colby Copeland would leave Carrick with a punctured left front tire and made handling tricky on his machine.

Hanging on as well as he could for the final 11-laps, Carrick would close Friday night out with a sixth-place finish.

Timing in seventh fastest in his group on Saturday night, Carrick’s seventh place finish in his heat race would force him into the ‘B’ Main event. Able to secure one of just four transfer positions into the 40-lap feature event, Carrick would finish in the fourth position.

Lining up shotgun on the field, Carrick would be very patient on the slick and hard Placerville Speedway surface.

Slowly working his way forward, Carrick would methodically work his way towards the Top-10. Taking what he was given from the back of the pack, Carrick capped the weekend with a nice charge forward to finish 12th.

“Friday night I think we had a shot to battle for the lead, but that flat really hurt,” Carrick said. “Thanks to all the guys for working hard during a busy week, and giving Blake and I both good cars.”

Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, Arai, and Spike Chassis for their support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts: 11, Wins: 0, Top 5’s: 2, Top 10’s: 7

ON TAP: Carrick is slated to return to Placerville Speedway on July 4th.
