PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking to the high banked Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Jarrett Soares would see a mid race tangle cause damage to his left rear shock and relegate him to a 13th place finish.
“We really had a good night going,” Soares said. “I was happy with how we timed in and how we heat raced, and in the main we were pretty good until a tangle up on a restart caused a little damage.”
Checking in at the Placerville Speedway for a night of racing with the King of the West Series. Soares would time the American Tool & Mfg./C&H Veteran Enterprises/Performance Powder Coating No. 12 machine in 11th fastest.
Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Soares would turn in a strong showing that saw him finish in the second spot, which would line him up in the sixth row of the feature event.
From his sixth starting spot, Soares would get off to a nice start as he battled within to Top-10 during the opening stages of the race. Battling with Tyler Walker and Jake Morgan at the race’s halfway point a caution on the 17th lap would bunch the field back up.
The ensuring restart would see trouble break out in turns one and two, and unfortunately Soares would find himself in the middle of it. With a little suspension damage, the Discovery Bay driver would take a quick trip to the work area before re joining the field.
Over the final 13 laps, Soares would work his way back forward to finish in the 13th spot.
“It was a little frustrating to see a pretty good night for us go south,” Soares said. “Brian Sperry and my dad work so hard for me, I am really trying to get us some better results.”
