Soares Has Promising Night At Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Battling with the King of the West Series on Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway, Jarrett Soares had a night that showed some promise at times, but eventually ended with Soares being scored 20th when the feature came to a close.

“It started out pretty well with qualifying, and then we got into some trouble in our heat race, but we got into the feature and ran well at times but ended up getting caught up in a pair of altercations,” Soares said.

Timing his American Tool & Mfg./C&H Veteran Enterprises/Performance Powder Coating No. 12 machine in ninth fastest, Soares would then see contact with another competitor during heat race action result in his car getting upside down, and sending him to the B Main.

Getting repairs done just prior to the semi being called to staging, Soares would line up second in the race, and his second place finish would put him safely in the feature event where he lined up in the fifth row for the 30-lap feature event.

When the race came to life, the Discovery Bay, CA product held his own inside the Top-10 as he battled with Brent Kaeding, and soon a charging Robbie Price.  On the 20th lap, Soares would be involved in his first altercation of the night before another on lap 25 brought his night to an end.

“There were some positives to take from the night such as qualifying,” Soares explained. “We also seemed to have a pretty decent pace all night, so hopefully we can get up to Chico this weekend and run well there again like we did a few weeks ago.”

Jarrett and his Soares Motorsports team would like to thank American Tool & Mfg., C&H Veteran Enterprises, Performance Powder Coating, Addicted Industries Clothing, A.R.T., Bailey Brothers Racing Engines, and Brad Scadden Designs for their support.

ON TAP: Soares will head to the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night to compete in the tracks weekly 410ci action before returning to the speedway on Saturday night to compete with the King of the West Series during the Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial.
