Solwold Second at Summer Nationals

PETERSEN MEDIA- Spending his weekend at the Skagit Speedway for the Summer Nationals, Jason Solwold would battle hard with Roger Crockett on Saturday night and finish in the second spot.

The two night program would kick off on Friday night with Solwold finding himself in the second row of the feature event. Getting off to a great start, Solwold would grab the race lead and begin to open up a very sizeable lead.

Getting into lapped traffic, Solwold would have three cars between him and the second place car, as he was simply dominant on this night. In thick traffic, a wreck would take place in front of Solwold and with nowhere to go the leader would get a piece of the action and see his Scottie’s Plumbing/NW Team Excavating/KarMart Motorsports machine in need of attention.

Making a trip to the work area, Solwold’s crew would fix the Shaylen Raye Motorsports No. 18 machine, and get him back on track. From the 18th spot, Solwold would continue to show speed as he raced his way through the field to finish in the eighth spot.

Saturday night’s finale would see the Burlington, WA driver grid the field from the eighth starting position. Meticulously working his way forward, Solwold would grab the race lead on the 28th lap though he would have pressure from Roger Crockett.

On the 35th lap, Crockett would get by Solwold and Solwold would be unable to answer the call as he would finish in the second spot to close out the Summer Nationals.

Solwold and the Shaylen Raye Motorsports team would like to thank Scottie’s Plumbing, NW Team Excavating, KarMart Motorsports, Doyle Guffie’s Rayle Auto Sales, Pops Entertainment, Vic’s 66, Speedmart, After Hours Painting, Triple X Race Co., Al Parker Race Engines, Wings Unlimited, Slade Shocks, Rob Graham Trucking, Wings Unlimited, Meyer Sings, Vahlco Wheels, Fuel Safe, and Pro Signs for their continued support.
