Sprint Car Challenge Tour Top-15 in Merced, CA For Michael Faccinto

PETERSEN MEDIA- Following the Sprint Car Challenge Tour to Merced, CA on Saturday night, Michael Faccinto and F&F Racing raced their way to a 14th place finish on the ¼ mile high banked bullring.

“We have good speed, and the guys are making the right adjustments all night long, but we got into a hole after qualifying and we just couldn’t dig ourselves out,” Michael Faccinto said.

Fresh off of their best finish of the season one week ago, Faccinto and F&F Racing headed to Merced Speedway to battle with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour, and looked to continue their Top-10 streak.

With 40 cars on hand for the series’ second event of the 2023 season, Faccinto timed the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Roseville Precision backed No. x1 in sixth fastest in his group of qualifying.

Lining up sixth in his heat race, the Hanford, CA driver took the green flag outside of a transfer position into the feature event, and knew his start was crucial to get into Top-Five to pick up a transfer.

With the waiving of the green flag, Faccinto mashed the throttle and was able to work into fifth as be chased after Carson and Cole Macedo who ran ahead of him in third and fourth.

Hanging on to the fifth and final transfer, Faccinto was securely in the 35-lap feature event as he put himself in the 17thstarting position.

Mired in the back of the pack in the race’s opening laps, Faccinto raced into 15th on the 11th lap, and got up as high as 11th on the 16th marker.

A couple of mid race restarts were unkind to the reigning USAC Western States Midget Series titlist, as he slipped back to 15th.

Able to get into 14th in the closing laps of the feature, Faccinto held the position and took the checkered in 14th.

“These races it comes down to tenths of seconds, and that is what got us in qualifying,” Faccinto added. “We have a good car, and we have speed but it was just a tough night on Saturday. We were good at Placerville Speedway two weeks ago, and I know we are all excited to get back up there this weekend.”

F&F Racing would like to thank Bushey Financial Services, C&H Motor Parts, Roseville Precision, Lucas Oil, Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes, Sacramento Battery Company, PitStopUSA, FVP, CRV Carbon Solutions, American River Overhead Door, All Pro Heads, Engler, and Don Ott Racing Engines for their support.

ON TAP: F&F Racing and Michael Faccinto are set to return to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-5, Wins-0, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-2
