PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting the opportunity to run some early season races with Tarlton Motorsports as his father recovers from offseason surgery, Steven Kent got off to a strong start on Saturday night as he picked up a seventh-place finish at Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA.

“It was such an honor to strap into an iconic Tarlton Motorsports car over the weekend,” Steven Kent said. “We had a really fast car all night long, and I am already so eager to get back with the team this weekend.”

With 23 cars checked into the central California facility that is now under leadership from former Tarlton Motorsports driver, Peter Murphy, Kent got his 2020 season kicked off by timing the Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto Sales/Pabco Gypsum backed No. 21 machine in 5th fastest in time trials.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Fresno, CA driver would continue to adapt to the Tarlton Motorsports entry as he picked up a fourth-place finish. By way of his heat race finish, Kent would keep his qualifying time for the feature event as he took the green flag from the seventh starting position.

On the hooked up and hammer down Keller Auto Speedway surface, Kent would keep his machine solidly inside the Top-10 as he battled with the likes of Tucker Worth, Ben Worth, and Mitchell Moles.

Making very solid laps over the course of the 25-lap feature event, Kent would accept the checkered flag in the seventh position to close out his 2020 season opener.

“I can’t thank Tom and Tommy Tarlton enough for the opportunity run one of their cars to get some races in during the early season,” Kent added. “I had a blast working with Paul Baines and Tyrone Tyra and felt like we worked really well together. Overall, I think we can build on Saturday, and like I said before I am really excited to get back after it this weekend.”

The Tarlton Motorsports team would like to thank Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2020 season.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-1, Wins-0, Top 5’s-0, Top 10’s-1.
