PETERSEN MEDIA: On paper, Steven Tiner’s Friday night doesn’t look like it went well, but a strong night overshadowed by a last lap mishap has Steven Tiner excited for the upcoming Trophy Cup that takes place this week in Tulare, CA.

“The last few weeks we have struggled for speed in the No. 94 car, and fixing some issues we found, we had a pretty good car all night on Friday until the driver decided to make a mistake on the last lap,”  Tiner said.

With 22 cars checked into the Keller Auto Speedway for the King of King’s 360ci finale, Tiner timed the Larry Davis Farms/Wright Process Systems/Deli Delicious No. 94 machine in fourth fastest.

Lining up in the second row of the first heat, Tiner would surge his way forward as he ran second to Jason Meyers and put his entry in the night’s Dash where a sixth place finish lined him up in the third row.

Friday night saw an immaculately prepared racing surface greet the teams and put on an exciting show for the fans as there was action all over the 3/8 mile racing surface. Battling inside the Top-10 much of the night, Tiner would battle with the likes of Tim and Bud Kaeding for much of the race.

Running inside the Top-10 as he took the white flag, Tiner would get his machine into turn one with too much momentum, and he would get up over the cushion. With it being the final lap, Tiner would just pull his machine back to the pit area as he was credited with a 15th place finish.

“It was definitely refreshing to have everything running well with a huge race coming up,” Tiner said. “The Trophy Cup means everything to me, so I am really looking forward to getting to the track on Thursday to see what we can do.”

Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Elma Lanes, Deli Delicious, Fisher Racing Engines, Harvest Supply, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, XYZ Machine, DMI, Dan Olson Race Products, HRP, Sander Engineering, Sweet Manufacturing, Schoenfeld, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-30, Wins-2, Top 5’s-12, Top 10’s-17

ON TAP: Tiner will be in action this Thursday-Saturday at the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA for the 22nd Annual Trophy Cup.
