PETERSEN MEDIA: Spending the last week in Oregon taking part in Speedweek Northwest, both Kyle Hirst and Steven Tiner would pilot the Tiner Hirst Enterprise 94 during various nights of action as the team scored a win and three podium finishes in five nights of action.

“It was good to get my first laps of the year in the No. 94 car,” Steven Tiner said. “We have been pretty good with Kyle in it with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour thus far, so it felt good to get in and give it a go myself,” Tiner said.

Chalking Monday up to a test and tune night as he re acclimated to things, Tiner would come out strong on Wednesday night at Cottage Grove Speedway.

Timing in fourth quickest in time trials, Tiner would finish sixth in a tough heat race. On the slick Cottage Grove Speedway surface, Tiner would get rolling in the feature event but a parts failure would force him to the pit area early as he would be credited with a 20thplace finish.

Traveling to Banks, OR on Thursday night, Tiner would again come out strong as he timed in fifth fastest in time trials before finishing third in his heat race. Winning the Dash, Tiner would lead the field to green as he looked for his first win of the season.

With Mitchell Faccinto beating him into turn one, Tiner would settle into second as he chased after the fellow Californian driver. Unable to mount a run to the lead, Tiner would close his portion of Speedweek out with a second place finish.

Serving as crew chief during the opening trio of races, Kyle Hirst would take over driving duties to close the week out during a two-night showing at Cottage Grove Speedway.

Hirst and company would remain fast just as they were with Tiner in the seat, as the Paradise, CA driver timed in second fastest on Friday night before picking up a third place finish in his heat race.

Winning the Dash, Hirst would lead the field to green and would get off to a great start as he worked the bottom groove in the opening laps. With second running Colby Copeland beating down the cushion, Hirst would hear him just in the nick of time, as he would change lines and find speed on the cushion.

Battling hard and exchanging the position with Copeland in dense traffic, he would not be denied on this night as he raced to his second feature event win of the season.

Saturday night’s finale saw KH time in 12thquickest in time trials before winning his heat race. Finishing third in the Dash, Hirst would take the green flag from the second row for the final event of the long week.

Falling back to fifth in the early laps, Hirst would come to life during the final 15 laps as he would work his way up to second and chase after Colby Copeland as the duo battled for the top spot just as they did a night prior.

Coming to take the white flag, something would go amiss on the THE/GP Development/Larry Davis Farms entry and it would see Hirst fall back to fourth momentarily.

With Copeland having issues as well, Hirst would get by him and would close Speedweek out with a third place finish.

When it was all said and done, THE would finish third in the final Speedweek points.

“It was a great week for us,” Hirst said. “We had a ton of fun, ran well, and it was a blast getting to swap roles with Steven Tiner for a few nights. Thanks to everyone who makes this possible. It is always great to get up into Oregon for a few races.”
