Tanner Carrick 2nd With Sprint Car Challenge Tour

PETERSEN MEDIA: Tanner Carrick came on strong at the end of Saturday night’s feature event and picked up a second-place finish with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour during the 30th Dave Bradway Jr Memorial.

“It was another good night for us up at Placerville Speedway,” Tanner Carrick explained. “We were really good all night long and, in the feature, we really got to hustling towards the end of the race.”

The Lincoln, CA driver continued his strong 2021 at Placerville Speedway as he got the night kicked off by timing his CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed machine in third fastest in his qualifying group.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Carrick was able to get the jump and set an early pace over Golobic. An entertaining heat race would see Carrick grab the win which propelled him into both the 35-lap feature event, as well as the important High Sierra Industries Dash.

Pocketing a sixth-place finish in the Dash, Carrick was all set for the feature event where he would roll off the starting grid from the outside of the third row on a very slick Placerville Speedway racing surface.

When the race came to life, Carrick would battle inside the Top-5 as he spent much of the early stages of the race running in fourth and fifth.

Jumping up into the third spot after a caution on the 13th lap, Carrick would start to come alive as the race wore on as moved into second on the 19th marker.

Once in second, Carrick would look to close in on the leader, Justyn Cox, and he would do just that however he couldn’t quite get the run he needed to try and make a move to get by.

Keep a firm grasp on second, Carrick would close his Saturday night out with another podium run with the traveling series.

“That first run before the yellow I really needed to do a better job,” Tanner Carrick said. “I feel like I kind of gave up a little the first 8-10 laps, but we got going really good in the closing laps. Big thanks to my crew and looking forward to trying to get this car one spot better on Saturday night.”

Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, Kaeding Performance, and Arai for their continued support

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts: 28, Wins: 2, Top 5’s: 14, Top 10’s: 20

ON TAP: Carrick is slated to return to action at Petaluma Speedway on Saturday night with the SCCT.
