PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting back in a sprint car for the first time since late September, Tanner Carrick returned to California over the weekend where he picked up a fourth place finish aboard the Tanner Carrick Racing No. 83T.

“We had a pretty good night overall,” Tanner Carrick said. “We didn’t have the great pill draw luck, but still fun to come home a pick up a Top-5.”

Going out first on a bit of a sloppy track for qualifying time trials, Carrick would make the best of the situation as he would time the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 83T machine in 11th fastest in qualifying time trials.

Moving into heat race action, Carrick would find himself on the front of his heat race after just sneaking into the inversion. Needing to win to advance into the Dash, Carrick would take care of business as he would fend off Sean Becker and grab the popular heat race win.

Pulling the six in the Dash draw, Carrick would finish in the sixth position which put him in the third row to start the 30-lap Mel Hall Memorial feature event. When the race went green, Carrick kept himself in the mix all night long as he battled with the likes of Andy Forsberg, Michael Ing, and Sean Becker.

Continuing to keep himself in the Top-5 lap after lap, Carrick would find himself battling with younger brother, Blake late in the feature event. As stoppages slowed the pace of the final laps, Carrick would take advantage of a final one and gain a spot as he moved into fourth where he would go on to cap his night.

“It was fun to get back home and get back in the sprint car,” Carrick said. “Thanks to everyone on our team for all of their hard work and putting us in a great position all night long.”

Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, Arai, and Spike Chassis for their support.
