PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting back into California over the weekend, Tanner Carrick would pilot the Tanner Carrick Racing No. 83T with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Series in both Chico, CA and Stockton, CA.

“Our results weren’t great but I didn’t think it was a bad weekend for our race team,” Tanner Carrick said. “Racing with the World of Outlaws is so tough, but I went to school and I think it is something we can build off for the season ahead.”

Checking in at the scene of his first Sprint Car win, Tanner Carrick would go to work at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night during the return of the Mini Gold Cup.

Carrick would get Friday night off to a great start as he timed the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed entry in eighth quickest in his qualifying flight.

Heat race action would see the Lincoln, CA pilot fall out of a transfer position as he would finish back in seventh and be forced into the 12-lap Last Chance Showdown. As luck would have it, the ‘B’ on this night was loaded with a mix of World of Outlaws regulars and California veterans making Carrick’s task that much more tough.

Battling with the likes of Shane Stewart, Aaron Reutzel, and Bud Kaeding, Carrick would finish in the seventh position, which would bring his Friday night to an end.

Making the trip to Stockton, CA on Saturday night, Carrick would have a slip up in qualifying time trials that would dictate his night, as he would end up 35th on the speed chart when time trials drew to a close.

Unable to dig himself out of the hole in his heat race, Carrick would get his elbows up on the rough and tumble track in the ‘B’ Main.

Taking the green flag from the 15th starting position, Carrick would patiently work his way forward as he got within striking distance of a transfer into the feature event.

With the last couple of laps getting wild in front of the young Lincoln, CA driver, he would look to sneak into the feature event but would come up just short as he closed his weekend out with a seventh place finish.

“We would have liked to have had some better results, but you have really be on your game with these guys and not make mistakes,” Carrick said. “Great opportunity to compete and better myself, so I am definitely fortunate to get these two races under my belt. Thanks to everyone who supports Carrick Racing.”

Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, Arai, and Spike Chassis for their support.

2019 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts: 3, Wins: 0, Top 5’s: 0, Top 10’s: 0

ON TAP: Carrick will make his way back to the Midwest this week as he reunites with the Keith Kunz Motorsports team this Thursday – Saturday for POWRi action.
