Tanner Carrick Picks Up 6th Place Finish During Second Morrie Williams Tribute Feature Event

PETERSEN MEDIA: Making his first start in a 410ci winged sprint car in over a year during his first ever appearance at Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA, Tanner Carrick would close his weekend out with a sixth-place finish during the second Morrie Williams Tribute Feature on Saturday night.

“I was pleased with how the weekend went considering it was my first 410ci start in over a year, as well as my first ever visit to Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA,” Tanner Carrick said.

Taking part in a big weekend of racing action in central California, Carrick kicked the weekend off on Friday night as he timed the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed no. 83T machine in seventh fastest in time trials before winning his heat race.

Lining up fifth in the feature event after pulling the five pill in the redraw, Carrick would slip back early as he searched for grip on the extremely slick racing surface.

Falling back out of the Top-10, rubber would soon become a factor on the surface that turned abrasive. Finding the rubber as he ran in the 11th position, Carrick would hit his marks and ride the rest of the race out as he took the checkered flag in the 11th position.

Saturday night Carrick was back in Hanford, CA for the conclusion of the Morrie Williams Tribute and would get off to a bit of a slow start in time trials as he timed in 18th fastest.

Finishing fifth in his heat race, the Lincoln, CA driver would line up 15th for the first 20-lap feature of the night. Able to pick up a few spots in the rapid-fire feature event, Carrick would finish 13th and find himself in the seventh starting position for the second 20-lap feature event.

Saving his best run of the weekend for the last feature event, Carrick would find himself battling for a Top-Five position for much of the feature event. On another slick surface, Carrick would close his weekend out with a sixth-place run.

“I have to thank Clark and my guys for their hard work, again,” Carrick said. “They were on point, and I feel like I got better on my end each time we went out.”

Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, Kaeding Performance, and Arai for their continued support

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts: 29, Wins: 3, Top 5’s: 14, Top 10’s: 21
