Tanner Carrick Pockets Pair of Top-10’s During Weekend with Keith Kunz Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA: Making the trip out to Indiana over the past weekend, Tanner Carrick reunited with Keith Kunz Motorsports for a trio of events, and he ran well in his first midget starts since Chili Bowl as he picked up Top-10’s as I-69 Speedway and Eldora Speedway.

“We had some brake trouble all weekend long, but other than that I was really happy with the speed we had, and really want to thank Keith Kunz for the opportunity and all the guys who worked on my car all weekend long.”

Kicking his weekend off on Thursday night in Gas City, IN, Carrick opened his night up by timing his iBuyPower backed No. 97K in eighth fastest in qualifying time trials before racing to a second-place finish in his heat race.

Locking directly into the feature event on the Indiana bullring, Carrick took the green flag from the 10th starting position. On the slick surface, Carrick battled those brake issues, but was able to keep his machine firmly in the Top-10.

Racing with Midget aces like Justin Grant, Cannon McIntosh, and TMez, Carrick was strong in his return as he capped the night off with a ninth-place finish.

Traveling to Eldora Speedway to take part in the Four-Crown Nationals on Friday and Saturday night, Carrick timed in ninth fastest to kick his two night stay at Eldora Speedway off.

With brake issues continuing to hinder him despite multiple changes being made, Carrick made do with what he had as he raced to an eighth place finish in his heat race before picking up an eight place finish in the feature event from his 10thplace starting position.

Saturday’s event was set from Friday’s feature event finish and the Lincoln, CA driver opened his night up by tallying a fifth place finish in his heat race which put him ninth on the starting grid in the feature event.

On a very slick racing surface, Carrick would do all he could to keep his machine inside the Top-10 but slowly drifted back as he worked around the famed ½ mile.

Carrick capped his weekend off as he took the checkered flag with a 13th place finish.

“My guys never gave up and continued to trouble shoot and try and fix some of our issues we were dealing with, and I really appreciated all their hard work.” Carrick said. “It was a fun three nights with the KKM guys, and again, I am very thankful for the chance.”

Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, Hanson Truss, Eddie’s Lincoln Auto Body, Simpson Strong-Tie, A&A Concrete Supply, Kaeding Performance, and Arai for their continued support
