PETERSEN MEDIA: Taking part in two nights of racing action over the weekend, Tanner Carrick picked up a Top-10 in Chico, CA on Friday night before a trying night in Antioch Speedway with NARC on Saturday.
“Friday night we were decent, but Saturday was a little bit of a struggle,” Tanner Carrick said. “Thanks to my team for their hard work.”
Checking into Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night for a 360ci event, 48 cars packed into the pit area and Carrick opened his night up by timing the CVC/Cemex/California Waterfowl backed No. 83T in 10th fastest in his qualifying flight.
Lining up fifth in his heat race, the Lincoln, CA driver held on to finish fifth and locked into the 30-lap feature event.
With the first three laps plagued with stoppages, the race struggled to get into a rhythm. Once the reds settled down and the race started clicking off green flag laps, Carrick was able to slowly work his way forward.
Racing his way into the Top-10, Carrick brought his night to a close with a ninth-place finish.
Saturday night, Carrick and company dropped their 410ci powerplant and made their way to Antioch Speedway for NARC action.
Timing in ninth fastest in his qualifying flight, Carrick lined up in the third row of his heat race. Slipping back to sixth, Carrick fell out of a transfer and was forced into the night’s ‘B’ Main.
Lining up on the front row of the semi, Carrick got the jump and never looked back. Picking up the win, Carrick kept his night alive as he moved into the 30-lap feature event.
Taking the green flag from the 21st starting position, Carrick went to work on the extremely slick Antioch Speedway surface. Slowly able to work his way forward, Carrick picked up a handful of spots as he raced towards the Top-10.
When the checkered flag flew, Carrick ended up with a 14th place finish.
“We were a little off on Saturday, but nobody gave up and we kept at it,” Tanner Carrick said. “We are excited for a big week this weekend with a lot of races.”
Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, California Waterfowl, Interstate Oil, D.R. Horton, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Hanson Truss, TC Guide Service, Eddie’s Lincoln Auto Body, Simpson Strong-Tie, A&A Concrete Supply, Kaeding Performance, and Arai for their continued support.
BY THE NUMBERS: Starts: 15, Wins: 4, Top 5’s: 9, Top 10’s: 13
ON TAP: Carrick is set for a big weekend ahead as he heads to Ocean Speedway Friday, Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA on Saturday, and Stockton Dirt Track on Sunday.
