PETERSEN MEDIA: Looking for his third consecutive Wednesday night win at Marysville Raceway, Tanner Carrick would come up a little short though still put together a nice run as he finished third and now looks ahead to PA Midget Week.
“It was a good run for us on Wednesday night,” Tanner Carrick said. “I made some bad laps early in the feature, and had to play catch up the rest of the race.”
Getting the midweek show kicked off by timing the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 83T machine third quickest in qualifying time trials, the Lincoln, CA wheelman picked up the win in heat race action.
Moving into the redraw, Carrick pulled the three pill and took the green flag from the third starting position.
When the race went green, Carrick machine would drift up the track as he got on the gas out of turn four and it resulted in him losing a few positions and slipping back to the seventh position.
Gathering his machine back up, Carrick would quickly jump back into the fifth position on the third lap where he would run for much of the race.
Dipping back to sixth briefly amidst a torrid battle for position, Carrick made a big move that saw him shoot up fourth with just sixth laps to go in the race, before settling into third, where he would finish with just five laps to go.
“We just really got off to a bad start, and gave up a good starting position,” Carrick said. “We played catch up, and in the end we were able to pick up a third place finish.”
