PETERSEN MEDIA- Climbing aboard his Tarlton Racing entry on Friday night for the first time since July, Tommy Tarlton had a strong showing at the Keller Auto Speedway as he picked up a fifth place finish.
“I have to thank Paul Baines and my team for giving me a great car, and working hard,” Tarlton said. “To run that well after that long of a break is a testament to this entire team.”
Having issues early in the night, Tarlton was able to time his Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino No. 21 machine in 11th fastest putting him on the front row of his heat race.
Simply walking away from the field during his heat, the Easton, CA wheelman would move into the night’s Dash where a third place finish would line the Executive Auto Sales/Pabco Gypsum/Bandy and Associates machine up in the second row of the 30-lap A Main event.
Settling into the fourth spot early, Tarlton would chase after the lead trio, until moving in to the third spot on the fifth lap. A lap seven restart would see Tarlton and Jonathan Allard hook up in a torrid battle as they fought relentlessly for the final spot on the podium.
With Tarlton keep the position, he would then feel pressure from Cory Eliason, and fall back to the fourth spot on the 12th lap. The fast Keller Auto Speedway surface, would see the last half of the race click off at rapid pace, and when the checkered flag flew, Tarlton would come across with a fifth place finish.
“It felt really good to be back in the car, and I am pleased with how we ran,” Tarlton added. “We have some great partners that surround us, and hopefully we can have a couple more strong runs this year for them.”
Tarlton Racing would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Executive Auto Sales, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2015 season.
ON TAP: Tarlton will be back in action this Saturday night as he will head to the Ventura Raceway on Saturday night with the King of the West Series.
