PETERSEN MEDIA- Carson Macedo and Jason Meyers were both in action aboard Tarlton Racing machines over the weekend. Friday night, Meyers was able to pick up a win at the Keller Auto Speedway as Macedo finished third, and on Saturday night, Macedo would finish in the second spot at the Thunderbowl Raceway and assume the King of the West Series point lead.

“Overall it was a really good weekend for this entire Tarlton Racing team,” Carson Macedo said. “It was great having Jason Meyers race with us on Friday night, and Saturday night he was there helping us out as well.”

With 22 cars checked in at the Keller Auto Speedway on Friday night, Macedo would time the Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto No. 21x machine in third fastest in time trials, while Meyers would qualify seventh quickest.

From his front row starting position in his heat race, Meyers would take care of business when the race went green as he took the lead, and never looked back. By way of his win, the Clovis, CA driver would lock into the Dash, and join Macedo who made it on his qualifying time.

Macedo would finish third in the Dash, and Meyers fifth, putting them in the second and third rows of the 30-lap A Main event, on an extremely racy Keller Auto Speedway.

Following a lap two caution, the race would go non-stop as both Tarlton Racing cars ran strong inside the top-five. Meyers was able to make the bottom work, as he climbed third spot with 10-to-go, and began challenging for the lead, while Macedo ran strong behind him battling with Jonathan Allard.

As Meyers began pressuring Mitchell Faccinto and Kyle Hirst, he was able to take over the second spot on the 22nd lap, and grab the lead from Hirst in traffic on the 23rd marker.

With Meyers out front, Macedo was able to get by Faccinto and take over the third spot, as he too would pressure Hirst for position. When the checkered flag waived on the event, it was Meyers grabbing the victory aboard the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino/Pabco Gypsum/Bandy and Associates entry, and Macedo finishing in the third spot.

Saturday night Macedo would be the sole Tarlton Racing driver in action, and he would again put together another strong performance. Going out last in Time Trials, the Thunderbowl was extremely fast on this night, and the Lemoore, CA driver was able to still turn in the fourth fastest lap of the evening.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Macedo would get off to a very strong start as he jumped into the second spot, where he would finish, and moved into both the Dash and the Feature Event.

Lining up in the third row of the Dash by way of the pill draw, Macedo would move up a couple of positions as a third place finish would put him in the second row of the A Main.

Tyler Walker and Bud Kaeding would battle hard in front of Macedo early in the race, and he would patiently let things unfold in front of him.

With Walker clearing Kaeding, Macedo would then start to pressure for the second spot, as the duo raced wheel to wheel for several laps, battling for position.

Macedo would get the second spot on the 11th lap, but Kaeding would not let him have it that easy. On the 12th lap he would pass him back in turn one, but Macedo was able to counter his move and take the spot for good.

Laps clicked off at a torrid pace on this night, though Macedo was noticeably closing in on the race leader. Getting extremely close in lapped traffic, the caution flag would waive with three to go, and give the leader clear track. Macedo would hang on to finish in the second position, and re-took the King of the West points lead.

“Paul Baines and this entire team have been so good this year, we have been really fast night in and night out and it is just a pleasure to drive this car,” Macedo said. “It was a really good weekend for us, and we are all excited for the Trophy Cup.”

Tarlton Racing would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2015 season.
