PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking the year off from competing full time with the King of the West Series after winning the series title in 2015 and 2016, Tarlton Motorsports is gearing up to go after the series crown in 2018 with Fremont, CA hot shoe Shane Golobic in the seat.

“I’m really excited and honored to run for the KWS/NARC Championship in 2018 with Tarlton Motorsports,” Shane Golobic said. “I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of Tom and Tommy Tarlton’s team, and I look forward to working alongside Paul Baines through the year. I really feel like we will be a tough team to beat. I am eager to get things started, and am very lucky to be a part of two of the best teams on the West Coast.”

Golobic takes over the wheel of the Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino No. 21x machine fresh off of an amazing 2017 season that saw the versatile driver compete 81 times, record 10 wins, 18 second place finishes, and a total of 46 Top-5’s while competing in winged and non winged sprint cars, as well as on the USAC National Midget Tour.

The early plan for Golobic and Tarlton Motorpsorts is to follow the 15 King of the West-NARC Schedule and go after the series title allowing the Fremont , CA driver to fill in his schedule again with the Clauson-Marshall USAC Midget, as well as with the Keith Day Racing No. 22 team.

The 2018 King of the West schedule kicks off on April 7th in Bakersfield, CA at Kern County Raceway Park, and spends a lot of time near Tarlton Motorsports’ home base out of the gate with a stop of Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA on April 20th, and at the nearby Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA on April 21st. Following a trip to Chico, CA for the Bradway Memorial on May 5th, the team will be on display in Tulare, CA again on May 19th and June 2nd, before traveling more north.

Spending the Summer months in cooler climate, the Championship battle will return close to home for the team with a return trip to Kern County Raceway Park on October 6th, the Cotton Classic in Hanford, CA on October 13th, and the series finale in Stockton, CA on November 3rd.

“I think Shane Golobic’s track record speaks for itself, and I am excited to work with him in 2018,” Tarlton Motorpsorts Crew Chief, Paul Baines said. “Our goal as it is with any driver we have is to win races and win championships, and I think we should be pretty tough. Huge thanks to Tom and Tommy Tarlton for getting us back on the KWS trail again.”
