PETERSEN MEDIA- Spending the 4th of July in action at Placerville Speedway, Sean Becker and Van Lare Motorsports would cap their holiday off with a seventh-place finish.
“We had good car speed all night,” Sean Becker said. “Unfortunately, the format did not play into our favor this time, and we started mid pack for the feature.”
With 38 cars checked into Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Becker would be the first car out for time trials and would end up second fastest in his group aboard the Pro Aggregate/All About Fire Protection/Bianchi Farms backed No. 5v machine.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Becker would need to win to make himself eligible for the Dash and would need to hang in the Top-five to transfer directly into the feature.
Racing with Andy Forsberg and Michael Faccinto, Becker would end up third at the line, and it would ultimately place him in the 12th starting spot for the 30-lap feature event.
On a racy Placerville Speedway, Becker would go to work once the race settled into a nice rhythm. With a couple stoppages early slowing the pace, laps 6-30 would go off without a hitch and it would let Becker work his way into the Top-10.
In a fast paced, non-stop 24 lap green flag run, Becker was able to pick up a handful of positions as he closed out the 4th of July holiday with a seventh-place finish.
“We were able to end with a decent finish, but I needed to make some better moves to try and battle closer to the front,” Becker added.
