‘The Shark’ 12th During Placerville Speedway Sprint Car Finale

PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night for the track’s final winged event of the season, Sean Becker would make the most of a late race move in heat to transfer into the feature event where he picked up a 12th place finish.

“I did a horrible job qualifying on Saturday night, and it put us in too deep of a hole to get the results this team deserves,” Sean Becker said.

Using the SCCT format as 58 cars showed up for the Mac Tiner Tribute, Becker would time the Pro Aggregate/All About Fire Protection/Bianchi Farms backed No. 5v entry in sixth fastest in his group.

Moving into heat race action, Becker would take the green flag from the sixth starting position with just four transfer positions into the 30-lap feature event up for grabs.

Able to move into the fifth position, Becker would make a last lap move that saw him take the fourth and final transfer position into the 30-lap feature event.

Lining up 17th on the starting grid for the final feature of the season at Placerville Speedway, the slick and wide surface would allow for a little moving and shaking on this night, but positions were to get with such a talented field assembled.

Following a couple of early stoppages to get the race started, Becker would start to work his way forward during an extended green flag run. Searching around the bullring, Becker would get up to the 12th spot, where he would ultimately finish.

“We worked really hard to get into the feature, but I wasn’t able to make up a lot of ground against a very stacked field of competitors,” Becker said. “Thanks to the VSR team for their hard work.”

Becker and Van Lare Motorsports would like to thank Pro Aggregate, All About Fire Protection, Bianchi Farms, Shark Racing Engines, CCI, Van Lare Steering Repair, and Triple X Race Co. for their support in 2020.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-30, Wins-4, Top 5’s- 13, Top-10’s- 17

ON TAP: Becker is slated for the Cotton Classic/Tribute to Morrie Williams this weekend in Hanford, CA.
