Tim Kaeding Back on Top at Huset’s Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Tim Kaeding and Lunstra Motorsports had a very strong Memorial Day Weekend at Huset’s Speedway. Running fourth on Saturday night, TK flexed his muscle on Sunday as he wired the field and picked up his first win at the Brandon, SD facility since back in the 2020 season.

“I have to thank this Lunstra Motorsports team for sticking with me and giving me a great opportunity to drive for them for the better part of the last decade,” Tim Kaeding said in victory lane. “All of these people behind me, and their kids, make this so fun, and I am so happy to get this car back in victory lane.”

Sunday night, Kaeding got off to a red hot start at Huset’s Speedway as he earned fast time honors in his qualifying flight aboard the Acres Away Ag/Dakota Alignment and Frame Service/Dammer Trucking backed No. 3 car.

Going from fourth to second in his heat race, Kaeding locked the Lunstra Motorsports No. 3 into the feature event where he ultimately led the field to green from the pole position.

When the race came to life, TK was hard on the throttle for the first three laps until a caution was needed. The ensuing restart saw TK get right back on the fun button as he worked the high side of the speedway and opened up his advantage over second running Chase Randall.

As TK clicked off laps, traffic loomed ahead of him and he began searching for other lines to see what he ad once he got to slower cars. As Randall closed in on him, Kaeding was able to fend off for the time being.

The one time Randall mounted a serious charge at Kaeding, the yellow flag flew with just a six laps left in the race and took the leaders out of traffic. Back underway, Kaeding was able to leave Randall and company in his wake and he raced away to his second win in just three starts with Lunstra Motorsports in 2024.

The team was also in action at the track to open the weekends festivities up on Saturday night, and Kaeding kicked the weekend off by timing in ninth fastest in his qualifying flight.

A great run in his heat race saw the San Jose, CA native advance from fifth to second as he locked into the feature event. Taking the green flag from the 13th starting position, Kaeding then went on to put on a show as he charged to the front.

Cracking the Top-10 in just three laps, Kaeding was into ninth before moving into second on lap 10. Continuing to look for more on deteriorating track conditions, Kaeding was into sixth on lap 12 before braking in fourth with 10-laps left in the race.

As rubber continued to go down on the surface, Kaeding settled into fourth where he went on to close out the Saturday night feature event.

The Lunstra Motorsports team would like to thank Acres Away Ag, Dakota Alignment and Frame Service, First National Bank, Dammer Trucking, Beep Motorsports, Clark’s Custom Coatings, Ahrendt Designs, Valley Springs Body Shop, and Walker Performance Filtration
