PETERSEN MEDIA: After a couple tough weekends of racing, Steven Tiner put together a strong effort at the Keller Auto Speedway on Friday night as he picked up a fourth place finish.

“He started up front and faded back a little, but it was good to finish, and shake some bad luck off,” Tiner said. “It was a pretty decent track, but we missed it a little and it showed.”

Getting things kicked off during time trials, Tiner would time the Larry Davis Farms/Wright Process Systems/Deli Delicious No. 94 machine in seventh fastest.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Visalia, CA wheelman would work his Fisher Racing Engines/Harvest Supply/Powder Coat-it backed entry up to the second spot, and stay eligible for the feature event inversion.

With the draw going his way, Tiner would find his STR machine on the front row for the 30-lap feature event. Getting the lead, Tiner would lead the opening lap before the red flaw would fly.

The ensuing restart saw Tiner slip back to the second spot as he felt pressure from third running, Cory Eliason. Slipping to the third spot on the third lap, Tiner would chase after the lead duo, as he worked around the slick 3/8 mile speedway.

A lap five restart would see Tiner battle with Heath Duinkerken and DJ Netto as the trio raced inside the Top-Five. As they continued to battle Tiner would continue to run in the fourth spot as the laps wound down.

In the closing laps, Tiner would slip back a couple of positions, but was able to take advantage of a late race restart to work his way back into the fourth spot where he would finish.

“We just couldn’t’ find grip, and we gave up some spots early in the race,” Tiner added. “We were okay once we settled in, but we couldn’t chase the leaders down.”

Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Elma Lanes, Deli Delicious, Fisher Racing Engines, Harvest Supply, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, XYZ Machine, DMI, Dan Olson Race Products, HRP, Sander Engineering, Sweet Manufacturing, Schoenfeld, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-11, Wins-2, Top 5’s-6, Top 10’s-8

ON TAP: Steven Tiner is still deciding where he will be in action at next.
