PETERSEN MEDIA: Continuing a hot streak in Placerville, CA during the month of July, Steven Tiner put together another strong night at the ¼ mile facility as he finished fourth on Saturday night.
“We have really been strong at Placerville Speedway as of late, and Saturday night we were able to race our way into the redraw and then move forward in the feature event,” Steven Tiner said.
“It was a long, hard week capped off with a pretty long drive home Friday night but it makes it worth it to end it all with a win,” Tiner said. “We have had some great speed all month long and we are hoping to keep it up moving forward.”
Going out very early in qualifying time trials, Tiner would see his time slowly slip down the speed chart as he would end up ninth quickest aboard the Larry Davis Famrs/Wright Process Systems/Deli Delicious No. 94 car.
In a spirited battle with Shane Golobic during heat race action, Tiner would pick up the much needed win and earn a spot in the all important redraw where the number six pill placed him in third row for the 25-lap feature event.
Moving into the feature event, the surface would slick off through the night and most of the field would take a liking to the bottom groove. A couple of early stoppages would slow the pace of the race, but once into an extended green flag run, Tiner would work his way into the fourth position.
Racing comfortably inside the top-five, Tiner would chase after third running Shane Golobic as they fought threw thick lapped traffic. With not much opportunity to pass, Tiner would hold down the fourth spot as the race came to a close.
Friday night, Tiner and team took part in a rare 360ci race at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA. With new clay going down on the speedway during the previous week off, Tiner would test it out by timing the Fisher Racing Engines/Powder Coat-It/SRP No. 94 machine in eighth fastest in qualifying time trials.
Running second in his heat race, Tiner wouldn’t qualify for the redraw on this night and would grid the field form the fifth row.
With the track staying fast rhough the night as the new surface was still taking to the track, Tiner would pick up a couple of early positions as he would get to eighth.
Running behind Kyle Hirst for most of the night, Tiner would end his night with a Top-10 finish.
“Overall it was a pretty nice weekend for our team,” Tiner said. “Friday night we couldn’t do much with the way the track was but we still moved forward and finished inside the Top-10.”
Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Deli Delicious, Fisher Racing Engines, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, XYZ Machine, DMI, Dan Olson Race Products, HRP, Kevin Sharrah Designs, Prior Engineering, B&B Racing Engines, ART, System One Pro Ignition, Sweet Manufacturing, Schoenfeld, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.
