PETERSEN MEDIA: Teaming up with the Steve Duppman Racing and Scotty McMillin No. 10 machine for the 23rd Annual Fall Nationals, Steven Tiner had a tough weekend.

“We had horrible luck both nights, and I fell bad for Steve and Scotty because they worked hard on getting this deal ready for the Fall Nationals,” Steven Tiner said.

Friday night, Tiner would have a short night as the team would experience mechanical issues under the hood that would prove terminal, after timing in ninth fastest in time trials.

Spending Saturday morning regrouping and getting ready to go for the Fall Nationals finale, Tiner would time in 15th fastest, and with the two flight time trial program in play, he would miss he heat race inversion.

Lining up eighth in his heat race, Tiner would work up to the sixth spot and pressure Andy Forsberg for the fifth and final transfer position into the 40-lap A Main. Unable to get the spot, Tiner would be forced into the B Main where he would grid the field from the 10th spot.

Needing to get into the top-four to transfer into the feature event, Tiner would put on a show in the semi, as he clawed his way forward. On the racy Silver Dollar Speedway surface, the Visalia, CA driver was able to forge his way into the third spot and successfully move into the night’s A Main.

Lining up 24th for the 40-lap finale, Tiner’s weekend would get worse as he had nowhere to go as cars got out of shape in front of him. Coming in contact, Tiner’s machine would flip violently down the backstretch, and his weekend would come to a close.

“Everyone worked really hard to get us ready to go for the Saturday night show, and we got off to a slow start,” Tiner said. “We were able to work at it all night and get in the show, and then when you start in the back, sometimes you get caught in vulnerable spots, and that is what happened to us. I really have to thank Scotty and Steve everything, and hopefully we can race together again soon.”

Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Elma Lanes, Deli Delicious, Fisher Racing Engines, Harvest Supply, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, XYZ Machine, DMI, Dan Olson Race Products, HRP, Sander Engineering, Sweet Manufacturing, Schoenfeld, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-29, Wins-2, Top 5’s-12, Top 10’s-17

ON TAP: Tiner is set to head to the Keller Auto Speedway for the Duinkerken Farms King of Kings 360 finale on Friday night.
