Tiner’s Streak Ends With Seventh Place finish in Hanford, CA

PETERSEN MEDIA: Though his night didn’t end in victory lane, Steven Tiner was still pleased with how his racecar felt as he picked up a seventh place finish on Friday night in Hanford, CA after going to the tail during the feature event.

“We weren’t horrible by any means, but we were not nearly as good as we had been in the first two races at Keller Auto Speedway (Hanford, CA),” Tiner explained.

Timing the Larry Davis Farms/Wright Process Systems/Deli Delicious No. 94 machine in ninth quickest during qualifying time trials, the Visalia, CA driver would take advantage of his front row starting spot in heat race action to pick up the win and move into the Dash.

Picking up a seventh place finish in the Dash, Tiner would grid the field from the fourth row for the 30-lap A Main event on a surface that offered drivers multiple grooves to chose from.

Moving forward when the race came to life, Tiner would find himself in the fifth spot quickly as he went wheel-to-wheel with some of the regions top shoes. Looking to work his way into the fourth spot, Tiner was forced to take evasive action to avoid contact with another competitor.

Upon doing so, he would get off the racing surface and would bring his machine to a stop on lap 21 as the field had gotten away from him. Restarting from the tail end of the field with just nine laps to go, Tiner had his elbows up and drove a little ticked off as he worked his way back up to finish in the seventh spot when the dust settled on the event.

“We easily had a Top-Five car, but unfortunately we had to avoid contact and it forced us to bring out a caution,” Tiner added. “We had another really good STR car, and hopefully our next race we can get back up front.”

Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Deli Delicious, Fisher Racing Engines, Harvest Supply, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, XYZ Machine, DMI, Dan Olson Race Products, HRP, Sander Engineering, Sweet Manufacturing, Schoenfeld, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-6, Wins-2, Top 5’s-2, Top 10’s-4

ON TAP: Tiner plans to be in action over the Memorial Day weekend, but is unsure at which event at this time.
