PETERSEN MEDIA: Steven Tiner made the trip to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night in search of his second Civil War Series presented by Flowmaster win of the season. Following a heat race crash that forced him into the ‘B’ Main, Tiner would close his night out with a seventh place finish in feature event.

“I really have to thank everyone that came over and helped us out after the wreck in the heat,” Tiner said. “We tore up some stuff, so all the help was needed.”

Timing the Larry Davis Farms/Wright Process Systems/Deli Delicious No. 94 machine in third fastest in time trials amongst the 27 drivers that were checked into the pit area.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, cars would get together going down the front straight away, and contact would result in Tiner’s machine getting upside down in turn one.

With too much damage to fix under the red flag period, Tiner and a slew of other drivers and team members would get the Fisher Racing Engines/SRP/Powder Coat-It No. 94 ready for the night’s ‘B’ Main event.

From the front row of the semi, Tiner had his elbows up as he worked the bottom of the speedway to perfection. Keeping Andy Gregg at bay, Tiner would pick up the win and move into the feature event.

Gridding the field from the ninth starting spot, Tiner would go to work on the thick cushion that was built up on both ends of the Placerville Speedway. Spending the duration of his night inside the Top-10, Tiner would battle with Placerville regulars Andy Gregg and Greg DeCaires.

Unable to make a ton of headway during the feature, Tiner would bring his machine home with a seventh place finish.

“The track was pretty fun, but we just couldn’t get moving forward with our car still a little banged up after our heat race,” Tiner added. “Again, thanks to my guys and everyone who helped us out, and hopefully we can run better at the Johnny Key Classic in a couple of weeks.”

Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Deli Delicious, Fisher Racing Engines, Harvest Supply, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, XYZ Machine, DMI, Dan Olson Race Products, HRP, Sander Engineering, Sweet Manufacturing, Schoenfeld, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-24, Wins-3, Top 5’s-11, Top 10’s-17

ON TAP: Steven Tiner will return to action on Saturday, August 20th at the Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA.
