PETERSEN MEDIA: Teaming up with Doug Rutz to compete in the Northwest over the weekend, Steven Tiner would put a tough Friday night behind him before racing his way to a sixth place finish at the Southern Oregon Speedway on Saturday night.

“I really have to thank Doug Rutz for the opportunity to drive his car,” Tiner said. “We did not quite have the weekend we were hoping for, but it was a pleasure to work with him and his team.”

Taking to the Siskiyou Motor Speedway in Yreka, CA on Friday night, Tiner and company would time in seventh fastest in time trials before Tiner raced his way to a second pace finish in heat race action.

Lining up fourth in the feature event on Friday night, Tiner would get off to a nice start before a brake issue would force him pit side, and his night would come to a close.

Heading to Medford, OR on Saturday night to take to the Southern Oregon Speedway, Tiner would time in sixth fastest on this night before finishing third in his heat race.

Moving into the feature event, Tiner would line up in the third row. From his sixth starting spot, Tiner would try to get moving forward, but would find himself holding down the sixth spot for much of the race.

Pressuring for the fifth spot late in the race, Tiner would not get the opening he needed, and he would close his weekend out by finish sixth aboard the Rutz Racing No. 8r machine.

“I thought we worked well together, but we had some gremlins hamper us a bit,” Tiner added. “Again, I want to thank Doug Rutz and everyone who made this weekend possible.”

Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Elma Lanes, Deli Delicious, Fisher Racing Engines, Harvest Supply, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, XYZ Machine, DMI, Dan Olson Race Products, HRP, Sander Engineering, Sweet Manufacturing, Schoenfeld, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-23, Wins-2, Top 5’s-12, Top 10’s-16

ON TAP: Tiner will be back in action on August 29th at the Ocean Speedway for the Johnny Key Classic.
