Tiner Tops King of Kings Winged Sprint Car Opener

PETERSEN MEDIA: Making his first start of the season at the Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA on Saturday night, Steven Tiner made it count as he picked up first victory of the 2016 season.

“We had really good speed the first time we brought the 94 car out a couple of weeks ago and that carried over to Saturday night and we were able to get a win,” Tiner said.

Timing the Larry Davis Farms/Wright Process Systems/Deli Delicious backed No. 94 machine in second quick in qualifying time trials, Tiner would then finish fourth in his heat race and earn a berth into the Dash.

Picking up the Dash win over Gio Scelzi, Tiner would earn the right to start on the front row of the 30-lap feature event. When the green flag dropped, Tiner would jump out to the early lead as he took a liking to the bottom of the speedway.

Feeling pressure from Blake Robertson early, Tiner would lose the top spot on the fourth lap. Getting his elbows up, the Visalia, CA resident would go after Robertson and re assume the top spot by the 10th lap.

Once back out in front, Tiner was on a mission as he opened his lead up lap after lap. As the race went on Tiner seemingly got stronger and went on to pick up his first win of the season by over four seconds.

“I kind of got surprised when Blake got by me up top but I knew we were good and kept hitting my marks,” Tiner added. “We got going really well at the halfway point and felt like it got better as the race went on. I have to thank all of my guys for their help, and the names on this car for all of their support.”

Steven and his Steven Tiner Racing team would like to thank Larry Davis Farms, Wright Process Systems, Deli Delicious, Fisher Racing Engines, Harvest Supply, Powder Coat-It, SRP, Wilwood, FSR, XYZ Machine, DMI, Dan Olson Race Products, HRP, Sander Engineering, Sweet Manufacturing, Schoenfeld, and Roseville Precision for their continued support.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-4, Wins-1, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-2

ON TAP: Tiner will take this weekend off before he returns to action on April 29th at the Keller Auto Speedway.
