TK 9th With NSL

PETERSEN MEDIA- Weather again shortened the race weekend for Tim Kaeding and the entire Lunstra Motorsports team, though they were able to get a National Sprint League race in on Thursday night, and a night of racing in at the Huset’s Speedway on Sunday night.

“We continued to show great speed,” Tim Kaeding said. “Thursday night we were in fifth when the nose wing collapsed and we slipped back to ninth, and on Sunday night we were really strong and leading the feature when we had a mechanical failure derail us.”

Taking on the NSL at the St Francis County Raceway in Farmington, MO in Thursday night, TK did not quite get the Dammer trucking/Folkens Bros. Trucking/Sioux Falls Ford No. 3 machine timed in where he had hoped as he timed in 18th fastest.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, the San Jose, CA driver was able to pick up the win, and move into the feature event where he lined up in the 16th starting position for the 30-lap affair.

On the bullring, TK shined as most though he would as he wasted no timed moving his way forward, as he went wheel-to-wheel with some of the nations best drivers. Getting into the fifth spot late in the race, Kaeding would see the nose wing on his machine collapse causing his front end to dance around on him.

With his car now a handful, Kaeding was able to hang on as best as he could as he closed the night out with a ninth place finish.

“We had at least a top-five car, we just had some unfortunate luck in the feature event, “ Kaeding added.

Watching it rain on Friday and Saturday night, Kaeding and company headed to Brandon, SD for a night of 410ci racing on Sunday night.

Timing the Yager Agriculture Supply/EMI/Matt’s Repair backed No. 3 in fifth quickest in qualifying time trials, Kaeding would pick up the heat race win from his third row starting position, putting him in the third row for the feature event.

From the third row, Kaeding’s machine was a rocket early in the race, as he was able to work his way into the lead on the fourth lap, as he began to pull away from the field.

Comfortable out front, Kaeding would have mechanical issues plague him on the 15th lap, as his night would come to an early end.

“I thought we were on our way to scoring our first win as a team,” Kaeding said. “We are fast night in and night out, and I can’t wait to park this car in victory lane for Dave Lunstra and everyone associated with this team.”

The Lunstra Motorsports team would like to thank Dammer Trucking, Folkens Bros. Trucking, Sioux Falls Ford, Yager Agriculture Supply, EMI, Matt’s Repair, Octane Ink, and Trac2Trail Arctic Cat for their support in 2015.

ON TAP: TK and the Lunstra Motorsports team will be in action on Friday night at the I 80 Speedway in Greenwood, NE before heading to the Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night and the Huset’s Speedway on Sunday night.
