PETERSEN MEDIA- Tim Kaeding at the Lunstra Motorsports team had a great weekend that saw the team win their second consecutive race at Jackson Motorplex before finishing fourth at Knoxville Raceway with the 410 and sixth with the 360.

“It was great to get this Lunstra Motorsports team back in victory lane,” Tim Kaeding said. “We got a chance to get back to Knoxville on Saturday and still have some work to do, so we will get back there this weekend and keep at it.”

Friday night in Jackson, MN, Kaeding opened the night up by timing the Folkens Bros. Trucking/East River Homes/Dammer Trucking No. 3 machine in fourth fastest in qualifying time trials.

Going from fifth to third in his heat race, the San Jose, CA pilot would line up in the fourth row for the 20-lap feature event. Showing great speed on the ½ mile as he has done all year long, Kaeding had his elbows up as he carved his way around the competition.

Getting into the second position late in the race, TK would make a move for the lead to get around Scott Winters and lead the way to the checkered flag to score his third win of the 2017 season.

Saturday night, Kaeding and Lunstra Motorsports traveled to Knoxville, IA to compete in both the 360 and 410 divisions as they prepare for the upcoming Knoxville Nationals.

In the 410 division, TK would get off to a bit of a slow start as he timed in 13th quickest in qualifying time trials. Finishing second in his heat race, Kaeding would grid the field from 12th starting position for the 20-lap feature.

Getting better as the night moved along, Kaeding would move the Mihm Trucking/Yager Ag Supply/Matt’s Repair machine forward as he raced his way up into the Top-Five. Taking the checkered flag fifth, TK would end up being fourth as a car in front of him bypassed tech inspection.

Timing in 16th quickest with the 360ci engine, Kaeding would also finish second in the heat race before lining up in the fifth row of the 18-lap feature event. Not quite as good as he was in the 410, TK was able to move forward a few spots as he flirted with a Top-Five finish, but settled for sixth as he could not get by Calvin Landis.

“I’m glad we got the chance to get to Knoxville to see where we stacked up,” Kaeding said. “We were good in spots, so like I said, we will take advantage of another opportunity to get back there this Saturday.”

The Lunstra Motorsports team would like to thank Folkens Bros. Trucking, Dammer Trucking, Mihm Trucking, Yager Agriculture Supply, Matt’s Repair, East River Homes, and Trac2Trail Arctic Cat for their support in 2017.

ON TAP: Kaeding and Lunstra Motorsports will be in Rock Rapids, IA on Tuesday night before returning to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday night.
