PETERSEN MEDIA- Tim Kaeding and his Lunstra Motorsports team were a model of consistency over the weekend. Competing in two events at the Huset’s Speedway and one at the Knoxville Raceway, Kaeding and company picked up a fourth place finish to go along with two sixth place efforts.
“It was a really consistent weekend,” Tim Kaeding said. “We had good speed all weekend long, and just needed to start a little bit better at Huset’s both nights.”
Taking on the National Sprint League on Friday night at the Huset’s Speedway, Kaeding would get his night started off by timing the Dammer Trucking/Folkens Bros. Trucking/Sioux Falls Ford No. 3 machine in 17th fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up on the front row of his heat, the San Jose, CA driver would storm to the heat race win, as he would transfer to the feature event as he gridded the field from the eighth row.
Showing speed from the back of the pack, Kaeding would crack the Top-10 in the first seven laps, as he sat in the eighth spot when the caution flew on the 28th lap. Getting into the seventh spot when the race came back to life, Kaeding would continue to hold the position as he battled with Lynton Jefferey and Brian Brown.
Moving into the sixth spot, Kaeding would take the checkered flag in sixth, as the team headed to the Knoxville Raceway for another NSL race on Saturday night.
After having some mechanical issues in hot laps on Saturday night, Kaeding would time the Yager Ag Supply/EMI/Matt’s Repair backed entry in fifth fastest before finishing fourth in his heat race.
Lining up sixth in the feature event, Kaeding would find himself in a race long battle with Ian Madsen and Justin Henderson.
Running in the sixth spot, Kaeding with hold off the challenge of Mark Dobmeier, as he picked up his second consecutive sixth place finish with the NSL.
Heading back to the Huset’s Speedway to close out a busy weekend on Sunday night, Kaeding would get his night started off by timing in 11th fastest.
Grabbing his second heat race win of the weekend, Kaeding would line up in the sixth row for the feature event. Like he did all weekend long, Kaeding was able to move forward.
Working his way up into the fifth spot, as the race drew to a close, TK would make a late race move to get around Dusty Zomer to take fourth as he closed out his weekend.
“This team continues to work so hard, and I am really happy with how consistent we are,” Kaeding said. “If we can put ourselves in a better starting position nightly, I truly feel we will be a tough car to beat.”
The Lunstra Motorsports team would like to thank Dammer Trucking, Folkens Bros. Trucking, Sioux Falls Ford, Yager Agriculture Supply, EMI, Matt’s Repair, Octane Ink, and Trac2Trail Arctic Cat for their support in 2015.
ON TAP: TK and the Lunstra Motorsports team will be at the Park Jefferson International Speedway on Friday with the NSL before taking to the Knoxville Raceway and Huset’s Speedway on Saturday and Sunday.
