PETERSEN MEDIA- The Lunstra Motosports team continues to show consistency, and on Sunday night Tim Kaeding was able to pick up the team’s second win of the season by topping the field at the Huset’s Speedway.
“Same story for us on Friday and Saturday, we need to get better qualifying to put ourselves in a better spot come A Main time, and Sunday was a good moral builder for us,” Tim Kaeding said.
Sunday night started off with Kaeding timing the Lunstra Motorsports/Dammer Trucking/Folkens Bros. Trucking/EMI No. 3 machine in fifth fastest before working his way up to a second place finish during his heat race.
Lining up in the second row for the feature event, Kaeding would work his way into the second spot, as he chased after the early race leader, Dylan Peterson.
On the ninth lap, Kaeding would make his move as he used the high, scary side of the speedway to race into the race lead to much of the crowd’s approval. Once out front, Kaeding was the man to beat, as he won by 1.1 seconds.
Kaeding and his team were in action with the National Sprint League on Friday night at the Park Jefferson International Speedway. Timing the Yager Ag Supply/Sioux Falls Ford/Matt’s Repair machine in 15th fastest, Kaeding would start on the front row of his heat race, and pick up the win moving him directly into the night’s feature event.
As he has done very well the last few weeks, TK put on a clinic as he worked through traffic from his seventh row starting spot. Having a car that could go anywhere on the speedway where there was an opening, the San Jose, CA driver earned KSE Hard Charger Honors as he worked his way up to a sixth place finish.
With the Knoxville Raceway raining out on Saturday, Kaeding and company made the decision to head to Cedar Lake, WI to race with the World of Outlaws. Timing in 17th fastest, Kaeding would charge to third in his heat race before finishing 13th in the A Main event.
“We certainly have the speed to race well, and I think if I can start putting complete night’s together we will be right in the thick of things,” Kaeding added. “Again, I have to thank everyone on this Lunstra Motorsports team for giving me such a great opportunity to race in the Midwest.”
